Dhanyamla dharais a special kind of Ayurveda treatment, which includes pouring of medicinal liquid over different body parts. This therapy continues for 45 to 60 minutes a day and lasts for 7 to 14 days. Luke warm medicinal liquid is let fall over the body on a rhythmic fashion from a hung vessel. A special self fermented warm medicinal preparation made out of various kinds of grains, lemon, horse gram, etc. is poured continuously on to the whole body or affected part. This therapy is very effective in 'Kapha Vata' predominant conditions.

In Kerala, Dhanyamlais also known as ‘veppukkadi’. Dhanyamla Dharais a special type of treatment and derived from the word cereals (dhanya) and vinegar (amla). For Dhanyamlapreparation navararice, horse gram, millet, citrus fruits and dried ginger are used. For this treatment traditional vessels are used. During the treatment the body is covered with a cloth for maintaining the heat. The duration of the treatment is 45 to 50 minutes depending up on the conditions of the patient. As per the instructions of the physician Dhanyamla dhara is done partly or full body. The course of the treatment is depend on the instructions of the physician may vary to seven days, 14 days etc.
