Mukhalepana is an Ayurvedic skin therapy which is performed for the disorders related to facial skin. Mukhalepana involves many steps, so that the medicines which are used for the procedure penetrate properly and show the action.

The main procedure of mukha lepana consist of 5 to 6 steps depends on the condition of the disorder.
First step—Mild Abhyanga with a medicated oil or gel is given to the face followed with a herbal steam.
Second step—a herbal scrubbing is done with different types of medicated powders depending on the condition of the disease and type of disease.
Third step—A mild herbal steam is given.
Fourth step—a special procedure called as Navara is done.
Fifth step—a herbal face pack is applied as a final step. This procedure is performed for 25 to 30 min.
After the treatment the face is cleaned properly and the person is advised to take rest for a while.
